Cristy grew up in Omaha, and at the age of 14, after exposure to overseas ministry through short term mission trips, felt that the Lord was calling her into overseas missions. To prepare for such a career, she attended Moody Bible Institute and earned a degree in Biblical studies. During her time at Moody, she spent 6 weeks in Ukraine serving under missionaries who oversaw her training in cross-cultural ministry. Prior to her work full-time, Cristy went on a total of 7 overseas mission trips.
In 2013, Cristy joined Avant Ministries, and one year later moved to Spain, where she has been able to utilize one of her great loves in the course of ministry - her love of video editing. She serves alongside a team of individuals from Canada, England, Syria, Egypt, and Morocco, and the team produces and curates Christian media in Arabic, which is then distributed via satellite television as well as online.
Every day, her team engages (via the internet or the phone) with North Africans who have questions about Christianity or Jesus. The media they found on tv or online has prompted them to enter into a spiritual discussion, and Cristy's team then leads them to the only Answer that satisfies our deepest longings - life in Jesus Christ.
